It has been a long journey for these young rockers. To celebrate and encourage their talent before they embark on their journey to adulthood, the school has organized a concert where they will be coming together for performance
this Saturday, July 12 from
5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thakor Hall, Law Garden (Ahmedabad).
Experiment 7 started out in 2004 as part of a class project.
Since then, they have played seven times in CEPT, four times in Rock Idols, played in NIFT, MSU, Nirma University, IIM…
They are now recording their first album and getting paid to perform. They have also recorded advertisement tunes for a company, Morello.

RTI article on MGIS
Students of MGIS were the first students who learned to use the Right to Information Act. Several forums and discussions with government officials, journalists, media persons and personalities later, they were ready to fight for issues they believed in. Many of them took a stand for their teachers with the RTI Act (click to read the article link above) and later used RTI to help others in their immediate surroundings.

Abhik Basu:
I am studying Economics at University of Denison, USA.
“I’d like to think that that the most important asset that MGIS provided me with is a world-sensitive outlook. In the future, as I see myself move from place to place I think this is one thing that will help me no matter what I do. Besides that, it gave me a pot full of amazing, and fun memories as well!”

Mr. Atul Karwal lived a long cherished dream of scaling the world’s tallest mountain range. Getting through the selection process itself is a feat as the selection lasted a few months, testing his physical abilities, endurance, adaptation skills, his knowledge about flora, fauna, mountain climbing, nutrition…his motivation!
To get selected he had to trek for weeks in dense forests under difficult circumstances that included rains that would refuse to stop for days, walking in knee deep murky water, sleeping in inhospitable conditions, facing crawling insects, slimy reptiles and wild animals. The list goes on. He lived his dream to climb the Everest for almost fifteen years and took more than a year getting ready for the expedition. After getting selected, the journey had just about begun. It included detailed, step by step guidelines to minimize health hazards and risks. The expedition was long and a single slip could prove to be fatal.
His determination, dedicated effort and ability to dream big are truly commendable.
